Courtney wrote, “Today was the first time I become aware of your website. I was walking to class after a really rough day. My boyfriend just broke up with me and I found out he was having a relationship with his ex on the side and was still in love with her. I felt completely horrible and not good enough. As I opened the door to the building, I noticed a sticky note. I decided to read it and it said "you are amazing the way you are. =)" That made me smile for the first time that day. During class I looked up your website. Then began to create sticky notes of my own to stick around the building. I hope my sticky notes make someone feel the way I did when I read it. This is a wonderful idea! I’m glad to have stumbled upon Operation Beautiful

Amy wrote, “I posted this on my Facebook page after my run today.  I figured I’d reach a lot of people I know this way.”

HERE’S A NOTE THAT WAS FOUND!  Jessica wrote, “I was having a rough day and decided to stop in the bathroom in the College Union Building before heading back to my apartment. When I went to wash my hands, I noticed this on the mirror, and it put a huge smile on my face!”

HERE’S A WOMAN THAT FOUND TWO NOTES ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS – How lucky!   Stephani wrote, “This year has been very difficult for me, from moving out on my own for the first time to multiple family members dying to ordinary things like being displeased with myself.  One day I was feeling particularly "unpretty," and I went into the bathroom at my local college and saw a post-it on the mirror.  It said, “Smile! You are Beautiful!” I thought it was really cool and made me smile a bit, reminding me of better days when I was upbeat and used to think to do things like that.  Today, when I was ready to give up on any hope of things getting better, I went into another building, another bathroom, another mirror, another note that said, "You are Beautiful!"  It is amazing how this little post-it’s pop up when I need when, even if I don’t know that I do.  It is amazing how a simple note can change a whole day, a whole life.”

Georgina from New Zealand wrote, “I put up these notes at my school library today, including one for my English teacher and one for the librarians. I did manage to sneak one into a copy of Eclipse that was on the shelf too!”

Kell from Scotland wrote, “I so inspired that I sat and filled an entire Post-it pad with little messages and popped it in my handbag so I could post little positive messages wherever I go. I went into town today and posted a few around the place (including a message on a £5 note which I then spent) and intend to continue doing so every time I leave the house.  I’m a Stay-at-Home-Mum to a one-year-old boy and have been struggling with my self-image now that my body is so completely different. Thank you for making me feel better about myself and helping me realize I can help others feel good about themselves too!”

I think it’s actually illegal in pretty much all countries which have paper money. But the practicalities of finding out and tracking down the perpetrator make the law pretty much useless. ;)

What a wonderful idea Operation Beauty is! Over at Fitsmi.com, we’re huge fans of the movement. In fact, we wrote an entire blog post about it last week. The post is called “In Case You Forgot, You’re Beautiful.” Check it out :)

Keep up the great work. What you’re doing is for girls is amazing!
