Lauren wrote, “I have many many many friends who have issues with their body and looks. Today I got a text message forward and decided I would start posting notes. I sent out the forward to all my contacts who were girls. The forward says: “HELLO GORGEOUS! You, YES YOU, are beautiful. And I spell beaUtifUl with U! Smile sunshine, you’re amazing!”
Holly wrote, “I commissioned Holly of Darkening Star Boutique to make custom Operation Beautiful necklaces for my mom and girlfriends. I found a charm that said "beautiful" on it that I really liked. I had her make three different styles and gave them to people based on their tastes, and I packaged them up with their own little Operation Beautiful notes! I also had her make a keychain version for a friend who doesn’t wear necklaces due to a heart surgery scar.”
Evangelina wrote, “I’m from Sacramento and I found this note in the bathroom of my school. I had no idea why it was there but it made me smile. I was having a good day, but that made it a bit better. Its motivational and helpful. So thanks to all those people who posts these notes.”

Meara wrote, “I just came across your website and, to put it simply, found it amazing. I haven’t done anything yet, but I sure plan to! I’m 14 years old (a freshman) and have been dealing with depression for over a year now, so I know just the pain that some people go through. For Christmas my sister gave me a pack of post it notes, so I’m going to use all 100 (well, 99, since she used one!) to post at school, in library books, ANY WHERE I can to help other girls feel beautiful!”
Ngan Ha wrote, “I posted this in the bathroom wall at my school above the sink. There was no mirror, but it still had the same result! If you can’t read the orange note, it said: ‘Changing our world, one smile at a time!”

This is to the person who had personalized necklaces made- I think that is a really sweet idea. My only issue is that your friend who had heart surgery doesn’t wear necklaces, does she not like her scar? I had heart surgery which left me with a very noticeable scar yet I still wear necklaces. I think my scar makes me beautiful and I wouldn’t change any of it- it is my battle wounds and shows how much I’ve overcome. I hope your friend see’s that her scar is beautiful, just like her, and its nothing to be ashamed of.

i agree – we should be proud of any scars we have – they show that we are survivors! but maybe she doesnt like to draw attention to the area because then strangers pry into her health? who knows?
anyway, i like your thoughts – they were very eloquent.
