Wednesday Notes – December 9, 2009

Kelli wrote, “I posted my first note the other day!  I put it in my gym locker room.  I also came up with an idea about how I can always be ready to post an Operation Beautiful note!  I made an "Operation Beautiful kit" this morning! Complete with fun post its, a pen, and tape.  I plan on keeping it in my purse at all times so I am always ready!  As someone who has suffered from an eating disorder and have struggled with self image most of my life, I can’t describe how much I appreciate the mission of Operation Beautiful.”

Adrienne wrote, “Our friend Melanie bought a book titled something like 101 Things to Do Before You Graduate. One of the things to do was to look in the mirror and greet your reflection with a sincere "Hello, masterpiece!" My roommate, Maddy, and I took this to heart and wrote "Hello, Masterpiece!" On our mirror. Naturally, a photoshoot followed!”

Boy-O wrote, “I’m not a female but I saw one of these notes posted up and I took it home with me.  I am going to post notes up everywhere, too.  I don’t know where Operation Beautiful started, but I found a note in my local cinema in Brisbane, Australia. I guess Operation Beautiful is getting bigger each day.”

Ashley wrote, “I’ve made so many post its I can’t seem to get them out fast enough! These are just a few of the holiday themed post its I’ve made.”

Anon wrote, “After I saw the site, I made these. I put them in each bathroom/changeroom in my school, five for each. Maybe people will listen to more if its anonymous, even my closest friends don’t know about this. They underestimate themselves too, and I hope these help change things and that everyone will notice for at least a second how amazing they are.”

I love this idea. The photo of the note saying ” hair and makeup will make you pretty but a smile makes you beautiful ” is my laptop wallpaperscreen and will be my facebook pic soon. I have a 15 year old daughter and this inspired me. I will continue to pay it forward :)
