My school is very big into Fat Talk and I would like to help stop it. I am going to start posting as many notes as possible in hope that I will help someone. I will send you a picture of it as soon as possible. I just wanted to say that Operation Beautiful has already helped me and now I am moving it onto others. Thanks, Operation Beautiful.”

I go to a small Christian college in Northwest Iowa called Northwestern. This week is finals week and I thought everyone might want a little bit of encouragement. I wrote out personalized notes with various messages for every one of the girls in my dorm along with a note for the rd and her husband. I hope one of those notes will touch someone and encourage them that they are beautiful!”

Kelly wrote, “I realized after I read and watched the "Fat Talk" video that we are all guilty of engaging in fat talk. It made me sad and I actually cried when I saw the video for the first time. I have always struggled with self-image issues and the ideal of perfectionism. It is always so easy to believe the negative and usually when people compliment me (on anything…looks, workmanship, etc…) I find myself thinking they are mocking me. Watching this video made me realize that everyone needs a reminder that they are beautiful, worthy and special just as they are! I have posted your mission on my blog site and I have encouraged all my friends to start carrying post-it notes and a pen in their purse. Austin, Texas is embracing Operation Beautiful!”
Anonymous wrote, “I’m an RA in an all girls freshman dorm and almost every day I hear my residents talk about their body image, most of it negative. Since I’m an RA, part of my job is to walk around the building just to make sure nothing is going wrong. One night, I decided to leave notes of encouragement in different places around the dorm: on the bathroom mirrors, on the doors going in and out of the building, on the printer in the computer lab, and in mailboxes. My goal was for each resident to see at least one note. Maybe some of them just got a little smile, but maybe it helped someone change how they think about their body image. Either way I think it was time well spent and I think I’ll definitely be doing it more often because everyone should know that they’re beautiful.”
