Deanna wrote, “I was listening to KLove this morning and they were discussing Operation Beautiful. My 7 year old daughter was crying last night about how she wasn’t pretty…and was fat. FAT?!?! I couldn’t believe my ears. Its starts this early. I’ve always struggled with my self-esteem and I pray my beautiful daughters don’t ever have to feel the same. I’m on board 100% with this!! We are all beautiful. God created us! I’m going to get the book for my daughters and I.”
Heather wrote, “I stuck this note on the computer at work!! At most, 15 females will see it!”
Anne wrote, “I’ve started posting notes on the Seattle buses, though (in the interest of stealth) I haven’t gotten any pictures yet because there’s always been someone sitting behind me!
Last night, I was riding the bus home, and across the aisle someone had written in blue marker, "I love you so much! Thank you for being." Who knew graffiti could be inspiring?”
Paponda left these notes around Durham, North Carolina:
Sydney wrote, “I’m starting middle school soon and I’ve heard that sometimes the grade 9’ers can be pretty mean to the younger kids. I’ve decided that I will leave a message on every bathroom door, mirror, changing room door, and locker possible at my school to brighten every girl’s day!”
Laurie wrote, “I posted this on my 9 year old daughter’s clock and she saw it when she woke up.”
Maggie wrote, “My daughter and I attend meetings monthly at the Child Welfare Training Center in Mechanicsburg, PA. It was so much fun! We put three of them up and almost got caught. It was hysterical, both of us putting our post-it’s and sharpies behind our backs, looking all innocent. We went back to the restroom later and our facilitator was in there. She said "Did you see those notes? I saw something about this on TV! It’s the neatest thing! I went and asked the staff if they knew who did it and they said no! I think it’s wonderful." My daughter and I looked at each other, giggled, and shrugged our shoulders.” Here are some of the notes they posted up together:

What a great book for young girls to embrace!
I was watching the Today Show and it made me think about Operation Beautiful. They were discussing eight year old girls getting bikini waxes!! A mom wrote in saying, her nine year old gets her eyebrow, lips waxed and when ready her bikini waxed. She felt if made her feel better about herself. It’s to young to install those negative body image messages! She will have a lifetime to do all those things, kids are made to grow up too fast! I think they need an Operation Beautiful message
Aw, that clock looks so adorable on your site. So much cuter than in my daughter’s room. Thanks for making us part of your world.
I’m in middle school. I just told my friends about this. Guess what we’re doing at the mall? I can’t wait. ?
My favorite in this post in the note on the UNC teen weight loss poster. I can’t even tell you how much I needed your book 10 years ago….but even today, I think it’s the most wonderful movement towards healthy body image out there!!! Thank you a million times for being such a wonderful, beautiful, caring person to start such a project for women (and men) all around! I opened up for the first time on my blog about my struggles with body image in a post dedicated to your book.

I had such a wonderful response, so I can only imagine how hearing from all these women that you had inspired makes you feel on a daily basis!!! I’m so sorry I did not get involved with your project sooner to help spread some love in my area!
I bought a few copies to give to some women in my life that really need to be reminded of how special they are
I am sorry I never made it to HLS to possibly meet you this year! Maybe next year!!
Many Hugs!!!!
Next year for sure!!!
Hi, I just tried to leave a comment and am not sure if it worked so if you get duplicates, sorry.
*I just heard about this on k-love today and checked out the site. I think this is wonderful! I am a professional mural artist and if someone will donate a wall in the Hickory, NC area or even the Charlotte area, I would be willing to donate a mural.( I have painted stuff in South Park Mall, Valley Hills Mall, schools, businesses, and private homes ) I could paint a giant post-it with some kind of message and the website on it. What do you all think? Find me a wall and I will do it =)
That sounds awesome! I wish I had a wall to paint (I rent)
this is a great way to change the world!
