Sandy wrote, “I discovered Operation Beautiful today, and it was a life-changing experience. I woke up this morning feeling hopeless and sad, and even plotting ways to kill myself. But I saw the work Operation Beautiful was doing, and I was amazed. I created four post-it notes and tagged all of my Facebook girlfriends. And I even made one for my mother, which I snuck onto her bathroom mirror. I feel so happy now that I even forgave a friend that I hadn’t found in my heart to forgive before. I even apologized to him for cussing at him for hurting me. Thank you so much.” From the Editor of Operation Beautiful: If you feel hopeless and are having thoughts about suicide, please call this hotline for support: 1-800-784-2433.
Amber wrote, “I went to a Girl Scout activity and we where required to make swaps. Swaps are something with a pin. Swapping is a form of ice-breaking with other girls (very traditional in Girl Scouts), what you do is swap your "object" with another girl for her pin. Anyway, this is my swap I traded I traded with an adult leader. The great thing about swaps is you trade the new swaps you get over and over again, so the my You’re beautiful message-swap will get around to other girls.”
Anonymous wrote, “Last week, a couple friends and I had a half-day at school, so we decided to attack the parking lot of a Safeway across the street with operation beautiful notes. We put different notes, about 70, all on driver seat windows to cars and a few in the grocery store. My friend Ty saw a man get into his car, look at the post it, and just smile for a while before starting his car and driving away. We even put one on a fire truck in the parking lot- and once we got into the store, we saw the firefighters holding one that we had put inside the store and smiling at our idea. It was so awesome to see all of the little flashes of color on the windows, and knowing that maybe our experience (which was one of my best experiences with these friends) might have been just as memorable for the people who would read the notes.”
