Operation Beautiful is collecting stories about how positive self-talk and/or Operation Beautiful post-its have helped girls, women, and men recover from their eating disorder. The stories will be included on Operation Beautiful during NEDA Week. If you have a story (one paragraph or so) to share, please e-mail it to seebriderun@gmail.com. Please include your name (or state you want to be anonymous), age, location, and blog address (if you have one).
Alyssa says, “This was found in the stall of our admin building at Southern Methodist University. A student probably posted it, but I know that staff members like me loved and appreciated it!”
Christie wrote, “As soon as I heard about Operation Beautiful about a week ago, I was amazed and inspired by the whole thing. For about 4 months this year, I suffered depression and I felt that I looked horrible. I’m finally over that, and I’d love to help other girls feel better about themselves. I created an Operation Beautiful group on Facebook to spread the word.”
Kim wrote, “I created my first "You are Beautiful" card this week and left it on a machine at my gym. I also created a "You are Amazing" card and left it on the buzzer of an apartment building. I was so excited to be a part of this and to think about the people who will find them!”
Bridget wrote, “My friend Kayte and I went around our local Target posting stickies in the bathroom, makeup section, and dressing rooms. We had a fun time doing it and we hope at least a few people read them and felt better"!”
