hey there, I’m from Brazil, and of course there are no notes of this in here, but don’t worry. I made a thousand of them, and I’m putting all around my school, my German school, and other public places, putting them in Portuguese and in English. Hoping people will join soon!

I am a senior in high school, and as I walked in the bathroom crying from a bad day after lunch I opened a stall and began to use the restroom. When I went to get toilet paper I saw a yellow post it note on the dispenser that said, “The scale measures a number, not your worth.” I thought about it for a second and stopped crying. After washing my hands I went back in the stall and took the post it with me to carry around for the rest of the day, and everytime I started to get upset I would read it again. It motivated me to believe in myself not only today but in general and realize everyone has a unique body that can’t be judged on a standard. So I thank you for starting this operation. I will now begin doing this, hoping it will help others like it did me. Thanks again!

I live in IL and I’ve yet to see one. So I’m gonna start posting them in every girl’s bathroom they’ll let me into! On the sidewalk in chalk! Everything! :D
I’ll get my friends to join in to. I’ll bet if we teamed up we could make a giant “You’re Beautiful” on the Sidewalk by our Junior High! :D

hey, wuzup sisters around the world. I’m writting from Lima Perú and in here we haven’t heard so much about this, specially because it’s in english and not so many people have advance english but still, i’m going to let those beautiful posts in my ernglish class bathrooms and in every public place, the think is not to compare and to make ourselfs a promiss to not judge another person by the way they look :) . Love to all, we will get better, we have to fight our own minds and not to be an object for guys but to give ourselves to the men enought to see throught our physical beauty: the inner which is more important even tho it might sound cliché, it is true, beauty is a state of mind and no one should make us doubt about the way we feel !

None in New York, yet. I’m going to be posting these in every place that I can in my school. Hopefully we’ll start a huge thing in my school, and hopefully we’ll make the world a better place, one post at a time. :)

And something else I did today. I can make hearts out of paper, and on them I wrote “You’re beautiful! If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?” and, “You’re important! Someone, somewhere, thinks you’re the world! Remember to SMILE! ”
A lot of people like it. This one girl even found me after school and hugged me, telling me how I made her day. It felt really good. :)
I hope this starts a chain reaction.

Greetings from Northern Michigan Univeristy. I’ve heard of this site from a facebook picture post via a fellow freshman where her note stated, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” with this site written at the bottom. I was curious to read more and typed in the site and stumbled upon greatness. This is my first day on this site and so far I think it’s a GREAT idea. The outstanding statistics regarding eating disorders is sickening until I, myself, agreed with the other 50% of women who would rather be ran over my a truck than be fat. I’m struggling with weight and have been bulimic for two years in my past. It’s an every day struggle but I’m working towards seeing the beauty in myself now. It’s hard – but I think this site’s idea will help. I will start posting notes around campus as college seems to be the right place for other women to see these encouraging notes. In conclusion, THANK YOU for hope. Hope is in everyone and it’s so nice to finally see hope being spread around the world!

Thank you so much for this great idea! I saw your posts on the Fat Talk Free Week Facebook page. I have been struggling with dieting/starving by day, and then overeating or bingeing at night, and ever-increasing weight for 30 years. I started at 120, was put on a starvation (1000 kcal) diet by my pediatrician when I was healthy and superfit and active, loving sports, and now I am 313 lbs. :..( I want to warn every woman and girl to never, ever undereat, it is unhealthy, dangerous, destroys one’s energy and self-esteem, and in the long run, it will only increase your weight. Please fill up at least 3 times a day on the full range of nutritious foods: starches, proteins, and fats. Your body will say “I don’t want it!” when it’s had enough. Make breakfast the biggest meal of the day (or as caloric as the other meals), then lunch, and then all you want for dinner, too :) I wish I had learned that years ago, instead of doing the reverse, starving myself all day til my body was screaming for fast calories from sugar and tons of calories from loads of fat, to make up for the dieting/undereating all day.

My nutrition teacher taught us that it is well known to nutritionists that undereating causes low blood sugar, so the body craves table sugar because it has calories that reach the blood stream faster than from any other food; and with low blood sugar, the body craves extra fats, because fats have the most calories per gram, to ensure sufficient make-up eating after getting too hungry. So dieting makes people crave the least healthy things: low-nutrition foods loaded with table sugar and extra fat. So diets teach us to restrict normal, nutritious foods which makes us so hungry we crave junk food! Doctors have it all wrong when they tell us to cut calories! In the long run, dieting causes weight gain.

I’m in Northern California and going to start your Post-It trend here. Thank you so much, and hugs to all the women and girls in the world fighting all this terrible pressure to undereat and be thin, and these crazy, unhealthy undereating schemes that doctors mistakenly tell us to follow. They are wrong, and we pay for it. I am now learning that the average moderately active woman needs ~2200 kcals/day for health and to prevent yo-yoing or bingeing. Please say no to dieting and thank you for helping others to do so too!

I’ve been putting up post-it notes in the bathrooms of MSHS in the US and I keep hearing from a few people how it made their day or helped them change the way they see themselves and it couldn’t make me any happier! I feel in High School it is important because so many people feel bad about themselves or their appearence. I have an entire sticky-note pad full of these notes which is about several hundered soon to make others happy. :] I can’t wait to use them all!
