I’m kinda sad that it’s a girls thing. I’m sure more women are insecure (while they shouldn’t) about the way they look, but there are men out there too.

It’s just, different I guess, for men. Don’t think the messages will work the same with them.

Anyway, I love this project. Makes me smile.

men are more than welcome to participate! we’ve had lots of men leave notes on bus stops, in gyms, and in the grocery store. you can write your favorite quote or another inspirational phrase.

I was in the bathroom thinking about how much weight I needed to lose, and then I saw a note on the mirror telling me that I am beautiful just the way I am. This really made my day, and I am going to spread the love!

I think this is amazing!! When i was younger i always hated my body and always thought i needed to be thinner to be likes and loved this site would have help me alot back then. But i found out on my own that i was BEAUTIFUL! but now i wanna help other girls who are not strong enough to know on their own beauty is all different shapes and sizes. This site WILL make a diffeence.. and i wanna be apart of that!
Smile back at your self in the mirror.. Because you are amazing and beautiful!

Only a week ago, I was stratching at my wrists, over exercising, and crying so many nights in a row.

Now, just by writing these, I am dancing around, and smiling so much more.

If my many (over 100 by now, just these two past days.) post its don’t help someone else, they have certainly helped me.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I have never been happier in all of my life.

I love this… I mean this has me teary eyed because this is one of the BEST acts of anything tht I have seen this year! This movement in itself is BEAUTIFUL!… I’m so glad that young women are encouraging others to LOVE THEMSELVES!! You are beautiful, one of a kind, and THATS what makes you SO UNIQUE! :-) … This all just leads me to a song, Angie Stone- Happy Being Me! Thank you again for being such an inspiration to ladies, shucks, even guys everywhere!

I live in a neighborhood by an area with a lot of public stores and resturants. I’m walking to Walmart tomorrow, and buying a Sharpie and Post-Its for those bathrooms, and all the women in the world. I found a Post-It today at my high school. I had to leave it up for everyone else. It’s time for us to fight back against people calling each other ugly! :)

I haven’t seen any of these notes where I am, but I’m willing to change that. I’m only a teenager but I’m hoping to change peoples’ minds about themselves once i start posting notes everywhere!

Thankyou so much for doing this!!!
I see girls at school… they aren’t even size 8, and yet the STILL call them selves fat and ugly, and it is so sad seeing them refuse to eat lunch…

I have posted sticky-notes and hope to spread the truth further! that all girls no matter what they look like, ARE BEAUTIFUL!!

I’ve been feeling so down lately… I was considering suiside. Because I thought I was the ugliest person in the entire world, I hated going shopping and bought clothes too big to wear. Then my friend sent me this and I realised that people have it much worse than me, and it made me smile and think about all the good things in life.
Thanks so much. I am now starting to write notes everywhere, it’s such a good idea.
Love Lucy xxxx

I pray that things will change I wanted to put up messages before I was sent this link through new generation I am have only been greatly encouraged by this and will start tomorrow!!!! Thank you!

I’m in grade nine and right now I’ve been suffering from depression for nine years and I am sucidal. This site changes my life today and made it worth roughing out for at least another day. In March my grade is going to Europe we’re there for 19 days and are going to 10 countries and guess who’s bringing a carry-on full of sticky notes and writing untensils, me! I need to share this with everyone as it might change their lives too! I got to go buy some more sticky notes today but have a great day and keep smiling!!

I just came across this website today and I can’t express how I amazing I feel about this mission.. I’ve always been terribly hard on myself for the way I look and comparing myself to other girls here at college. But watching those videos really touched my heart.. I’m so motivated and moved by it! I’ve written out my own notes and ready to post them all over campus! Thank you SO much!

Does anyone else think it’s ironic that there is a make-up ad on the side of this page?

Reply

admin January 26, 2010 at 12:39 pm

Hi Amber:

I don’t select the ads that run on the side of the blog. It’s a randomly generated thing through the BlogHer ad network. There’s nothing wrong with using make-up – it’s just that you shouldn’t use it to hide who you really are or make you into something you’re not. (That’s just my opinion.) That’s like saying that to be feminists, we should all run around with hairy legs and no bras. :)

The first video was more “in your face” with all the horrifying statistics. The second video was more upbeat and showsyou how to spread the message.

Good Morning everyone! You are all beautiful, even if you have bedhead and haven’t had your coffee yet!
