A message from Caitlin

Today I have lots of exciting Operation Beautiful announcements to make!  And then your regularly schedule notes. :)   First up:  Tomorrow is the beginning of Change the Way You See, Not the Way You Look Week. I encourage all bloggers + readers to think and write about body image issues.

If you’re a blogger, write a new blog post about whatever subject specifically appeals to you (finding a happy weight? getting fit? learning to love your body? and other ideas here), copy and paste the “Change the Way You See” logo into the blog post (like a photo, as I did above), and then press publish and email me the link (operationbeautiful@gmail.com).   I’ll link to it on Healthy Tipping Point and Operation Beautiful so new readers can read your perspective and find your blog!  If you don’t have a blog but want to participate, you can join the discussion by writing a post and e-mailing it to me.  I’ll put it on a special section of the Operation Beautiful site and credit it to YOU!

Secondly, the Operation Beautiful book comes out THIS TUESDAY!  The book contains 125 of the best notes ever received, as well as tips on how to lead a more healthy, balanced, and beautiful life.  You can pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble, Border’s, or these fine online retailers.

Thanks for your support!  You are beautiful!

Allie wrote, “Women have become there own worst critics, enemies ,and foes.  We are the nurturers of the world who should be supporting one another at all times, yet we are competing against one another.  If we stop emulating men and start behaving like what God meant for us to be, the world would be a better place and we would have less stress. Thank you, Operation Beautiful, for putting us back in our place . . . . with kindness.”

Stacey wrote, “This week I was feeling kind of down and restless. For some reason I decided to write a few Operation Beautiful notes. I made the notes and stashed them in my purse. Just writing them made me feel better. It took me a few days to get the courage to post them, but today I did.  I posted 4 in various areas of the gym. After posting, I felt so empowered. I also felt extremely giddy; I couldn’t help but smile and wonder who found my notes. If they made me feel so happy, I can just imagine how the person reading the note would feel.  It finally dawned on me today that it’s not just finding the note that transforms the way you see yourself, but also posting the note. I can’t wait to leave more Operation Beautiful notes for people to find. As a fourth grade teacher I am also going to try to incorporate this in my classroom this year.”

Katub wrote, “Me and my friends , Nessy, Ellie, and Kathryn, love Operation Beautiful.  In school, we always have a sneaky look at the website!  We’re definitely getting the book, too.  Here’s a few pictures of what we’ve been up to lately… Some girls ripped off our notes and tried to stick on on our backs as a joke.  I laughed, took it off my shirt, and stuck it higher on the wall, just so they couldn’t reach!! :) Nothing is going to stop us from showing the word how much love there is!!”
