Be in the book!

Call for Submissions:  The Operation Beautiful Book!

We are looking for approximately 125 notes and/or stories to be included in Operation Beautiful: The Book, which will be published in Fall 2010 by Gotham Books.  Every day, we receive stories from so many women who inspire and amaze us…. And we want to spotlight YOU in the book!

  • Has Operation Beautiful changed the way you see yourself?
  • Have you posted a note in a unique place?
  • Do you have an amazing story to share with the world?  Specifically, we’re looking for stories about body image, family, friends, food, fitness, random acts of kindness, and faith.

If so, we want to hear from YOU! We are looking for:

  • Notes with unique messages.  For a list of inspirational quotes, check out Great Minds and Inspirational Quotes. Or come up with your own message!
  • Notes in unique places.  Think beyond the bathroom mirror – post an Operation Beautiful note in an unusual place:
    • On a bottle of diet pills, 100-calorie packs, or diet shakes
    • On a car windshield
    • At the hospital
    • In your classroom
    • At the hair salon
    • In a magazine
    • In a menu at a restaurant
    • In a library book
    • At the dog park
    • On your race number during a 5K
    • Written in chalk on a sidewalk
    • And more!
  • Stories of why YOU are truly beautiful.  Whether you’re 10 years old or 70 years old, there is something that makes you amazing.   Again, we’re looking for stories about body image, family, friends, food, fitness, random acts of kindness, and faith.  We want to hear your message!

Enter your note or story now! If we don’t use your note for the book, the note will go up on our website.  Remember – every note gets shared with the world!

To upload MULTIPLE PHOTOGRAGHS, simply re-submit the form.  If you have trouble using this form, please contact Caitlin directly at seebriderun@gmail.com.

  • Name You Would Like to Be Referred to In the Book (i.e. “Caitlin B.” if you don’t want to use your last name)
  • For a note to be considered for the Operation Beautiful book, it must be high-quality (300 dpi) and taken with a real camera, not a cell phone. Cell phone pictures are fine for the website!
By submitting my story and note, I hereby grant Operation Beautiful, Caitlin Boyle, Gotham Books, Penguin Group (USA) Inc. and their licensees, successors and assigns to include the attached photos and text in all editions and derivations of Operation Beautiful: The Book throughout the world in all languages, and in the advertising and promotion thereof in all media now known or hereafter devised. If you request, credit will be given to you either on the same page with the photos and text, on the copyright page, or in a separate section for credits. In checking the box above, you represent that you are the sole owner of the rights granted herein, and that the material indicated below does not infringe upon the copyright, privacy right or other rights of anyone.
