Send your own Operation Beautiful Note to Caitlin at OperationBeautiful@gmail.com, and it will be posted on the site. If you have a blog, be sure to include a link!  It takes about three weeks for a photograph to show up on the site, so be patient! :)

Write a motivating note on a post it and put it up in a public place– such as on a bathroom mirror, in the gym locker room, or even on a random car’s windshield.  If you want, you can write the web address www.OperationBeautiful.com on the bottom so other women can find the site!

I love this idea but don’t see any men on here…Let’s not forget that men are beautiful too and have body image and eating disorders as well. We need to be sure to tell the ones that need to hear it that they are beautiful too.

i absolutely LOVE this and the whole idea! this website is my home page so when i get one i see the pictures! there was a bunch of people at my school doing the post-it notes but then the staff banned it saying that it was a hassle for the janitors to clean up. luckily not much later, the newspaper came out and a student had written about this and said to continue making notes. i havent seen any since but im going to try to start it up again and politely asking not to take it down on the note. cross your fingers and hope it works!
Thanks for all you’ve done, Caitlin, you’re amazing and same with everyone else out there working to boost people self esteem!

I work at a locally owned grocery store in upstate, NY and was stocking one day when I found several little notes on the product. I mentioned this to my coworkers and they also found notes in the aisles they were working. We all got a smile out of these notes even though we had to take them down, because it was against policy to keep anything like that on the store shelves. Thank you to the person who did that, because you made several woman smile that day.

A girl wrote “You are beautiful!” on a sticky note in a bathroom stall at my school. This website was written after it. My curiousity made me check out this web site right away, and I’m glad I did. Reading those three simple words made me smile. Though I know the note was meant for everybody, I felt like it was expecially for me and it warmed me. A total stranger, telling you you’re beautiful? Now thats a self-confidence booster. Thank you mystery fellow student, and thank you to all who partake in making this world a little brighter, one sticky note at a time.

I was having an emotional roller coaster of a day. My self doubt has been running on overdrive for quite some time now and it’s really been affecting my quality of life. I’m currently writing a one woman show about the ways in which we manifest our inner critic and where it comes from. I was about to walk into the rehearsal space to work, and I found a purple post it note on the side of the door which stated “You are beautiful, inside and out.” I thought that fate was kicking me into high gear and reminded me that inspiration can be found and fostered in the most unlikely of places. It truly changed my day. Thank you.

I love this idea! Caitlin you are one amazing person, as well as everyone who is helping and spreading notes. At this point in my life, I am having a hard time with liking myself and who I have grown to be. It’s very difficult for me to look in the mirror. But I feel if I join this movement I will boost my own self esteem by helping other boost theirs. This site is making a very intense statement at my school. Congrats!

i thought that i didn’t and never would fit in in my school even though its a private school. im not considered poular or pretty but thats ok.
girls are like apples on an apple tree when a boy picks an apple he usually picks the ones the easiest to get to. another words he’s too afraid to climb to the top and fall. the best girls are always at the top. the ones who are usually considered popular are the girls easiest to get to. a guy is worth it if he climbes for you. i used to be at the bottom of that tree but now im not. im at the top and that;s where i want to stay :D

One of my closest friends showed me this site the other night, we were talking about ourselves and I think little to nothing of myself.. I believe this helps after seeing stickies randomly in the girls bathroom at work and school. Keep doing what your doing, and your beautiful everyday, love.

I transferred high schools over a year ago, and when I arrived, I noticed that every restroom door, for both girls and boys, had a wooden plaque on it that read “you are beautiful”. I later discovered that they were posted a few years ago by a graduate as their final art project. really touched me to think that the individual who posted them felt so inclined to leave such a message on bathroom doors. Ever since then, I’ve been trying to do my share of making others happy. Finding this site has made me smile, since I now know that there’s so many others out there with a similar goal.

I saw this site today. I had never heard of it before around 2pm.

It’s four thirty, and I have about sixty post-its , some window crayons, and various other supplies ready to go tomorrow. I sent out a mass message on facebook, and the people who responded are already getting into this too.

It’s making us feel more beautiful and worthy already.

Thanks.

This is so incredibly sweet! This site is just amazing. These pictures are so inspirational. In my school bathroom I wrote one on a sticky note and put it on the bathroom mirror. About an hour later when I was comming out of class I saw a girl showing it to her friend, smiling. It made me so glad that I made a person feel good about themselves. It really really helped boost mine and their confidence. The best part, the next day I walked into the same bathroom and there was another one, only this time it wasnt from me. I love this website. Everytime I’m feeling bad about myself and I come here. It makes me feel so much better and its just so amazing. I hope you continue on for as long as you possibly can.

I have but they aren’t too cost efficient – maybe when the book comes out! some people make their own on vistaprint.com though.

Hi Caitlin!! :o )
I hope you’re having a super duper day!!
I already know how beautiful you are – so for you to create something as wonderful as ‘Operation Beautiful’ doesn’t surprise me at all. Besides – there is nothing more beautiful than love. Anyone who takes the time to be kind is beautiful. Sadly – many of us [And I mean girls AND GUYS] have become our own worst enemy. What might have started off as the inappropriate comments from others regarding what ‘they’ might think we look like – turns into something far worse. We take up where they left off and start to bash ourselves. But we don’t stop at what we look like. [As others may have done] We dig down deep and begin to tell ourselves that who we ARE is unacceptable. Before too long – we come to believe that we are ugly. In other words – we come to believe in a LIE. ‘Operation Beautiful ‘ – as I see it – counters that lie with the truth – a truth we should have believed all along. And that truth is that we are beautiful. May ‘Operation Beautiful’ begin to spread around the world like a wild fire. May all of us begin to appreciate the fact that we were created to be just as we are. And that is a precious, valuable and yes beautiful human being. Loved by the very one who created us.
GREAT BIG HUG
Craig!! :o )

I was talking to my friend Kylie today and found out she also knew about this site. Well it started off as me saying that I am going to write on one of my schools bathroom stalls where girls write stuff about other girls and put instead of writing stuff about other girls write stuff about what you want to see change in the world or in your life thats when she told me that she has been putting post its saying things like whats on this site then I figured out she knew about this to. And tomorrow I am going to put one in the bathroom with the most stuff written on the walls(: I know how most of these girls feel, low self esteem and have been put down and bullied since first grade. It hurts but all it takes is notes like this or my friends making my day better to make me feel good. Thank you for creating this site it makes me know that there is hope in this world and others just like me.

I got really upset today because I was loooking at some pictures of me and my cheerleading team, and they all looked so beautiful, like they were MEANT to be cheerleaders, and I looked so out of place, I didn’t fit in with them at all! It made me cry! I wish I could say looking at these notes helps but it doesn’t, I’m sorry to say it. It is a wonderful idea, though.

I believe that God created each and every one of us through His eyes and thinks we’re all beautiful. So every time I critisize myself, I tell myself I’m insulting God because He created me and thought that I was beautiful just the way he made me. So tell yourself that as well. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL (:
