Send your own Operation Beautiful Note to Caitlin at OperationBeautiful@gmail.com, and it will be posted on the site. If you have a blog, be sure to include a link!  It takes about three weeks for a photograph to show up on the site, so be patient! :)

Write a motivating note on a post it and put it up in a public place– such as on a bathroom mirror, in the gym locker room, or even on a random car’s windshield.  If you want, you can write the web address www.OperationBeautiful.com on the bottom so other women can find the site!

Never stop

The things that you said to me,
Even though you ment it,
Trying to crush my dreams,
They never sank in,

Your only one being,
I’m one soul,
Those old sayings are true,
You can’t force me to do anything,

I’ve gone throught thick and thin,
With my life,
Trying to get to my number one goal,
Nothing would ever stop me from it,

You try to tell me what’s right from wrong in the wrong way,
Even though I know I’m smarter than that,
You tricks are too old,
I lift my chin and walk away,

Stop me all you want,
Nothing is going to change,
You all your will,
Come on don’t waste your time,

You’ve got a life,
Go use it,
Stop trying to get into mine,
Like I’ve got any problems of my own to worry,

Why waste your time,
That you can never get back,
You have a full life ahead of you,
Go on and enjoy the sunshine,

I will never follow you advice,
If you dare push,
You will get the horror,
Go on and try I dare you,

And I will fight back,
As a strong person does,
That I look up to,
To never stop,
I have a life,
Get out of it

this is a poem that I wrote for others to see that never let what anyone says hurts you

My friend and I started posting notes on the girl’s lockers at our high school. Then I found this website and I was so excited that someone actually made a website for this. We now are postings post it notes in the girls bathroom and all the girls are wondering whose doing it. A lot of them think some of the senior girls are doing it, but nope it’s two freshman girls that think every girl should know they are beautiful no matter what people say. I believe that God has made each and every one of us perfect and beautiful in our own unique way and he loves all of us!

I’ve been looking at this website for quite some time now, trying to figure out just how to write a note that will mean something, as much as this website means to me. Honestly, without Operation Beautiful, I don’t know where I would be. I used to cut myself because I didn’t think I was good enough. Sure, I’m popular, and all that stuff. But my home life isn’t so great. I’ve been through a lot more than you think a 13 year old should go through right now, or at all. People would always make rude comments to me saying things like I was a whore, a slut, a bitch, that I should die, and a bunch of other disgusting things. After people started finding out that I was cutting, a lot more people found out then intended and I was getting even more hate. I ended up going to therapy, and joining Operation Beautiful. It really helped a lot. I stopped cutting and I haven’t done it in about 5-6 months or so, which is actually really good because I used to do it every day. Then one day when I came home from school, I found a note on my bedroom mirror saying “it gets better, you’re beautiful, no matter what they say”. It was from my sister. Right now, I can honestly tell you that it no longer pains me to tell my story, because I know that somewhere, someone has the same problem. If you are reading this right now, and you have a problem similar to mine, listen up. You may not have someone like a sister, or a mother you can talk to, but you need to talk to someone. Those little flaws in you, that everyone tends to see ? Yeah, well, they make you, you. You just have to think about all the people who care about you and fuck all the one’s that don’t. They don’t deserve you. You are beautiful, amazing, talented, usefull. You are you. Perfectly, imperfect.

It takes a strong person to admit to their past. I just wanted to remind you that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, GOOD ENOUGH, and BRAVE. I understand dealing with things you shouldn’t have to at a young age and I want you to know that you are not alone. You will NEVER BE ALONE. I hope that life has turned around for you. I just ask one thing, please never stop smiling. (: YOU ARE AMAZING!

My friend and I this summer decided to stick post-its saying things like “you’re beautiful” and “smile, your worth it” and we’d wait and watch people smile when they see them. Then a couple of weeks ago I went to the mall, and was looking in a store, and there was a boy about my age (16) putting the same type of post-it notes all over the store. It makes you feel so good to read things like that, and to see how happy people get when you do it. Operation Beautiful rocks!

First thing, No matter what they say YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! and no one has the right to make you feel like you’re not! Take some time and focus on yourself! Maybe paint your nails, go to Walmart and buy some spa stuff and just have a day or a couple of hours to yourself. When the right guy comes around for you, both of you will know it. Remember, LOVE YOURSELF! and DO NOT CHANGE FOR A GUY!

Reply

Heather December 7, 2011 at 11:03 pm

YOU ARE GORGEOUS!!! And you are you! Don’t let anyone bring you down, be yourself and love yourself. Like Julianna said, you have no need to change for a guy, or anyone! If he doesn’t like you for you, he’s not the one. You will find love, but in order to do that, you must love yourself!!!! STAY STRONG AND SMILE!!!!(That’ll make everyone a little happier) :D

Sue January 19, 2012 at 12:20 pm

Angela, don’t be in a hurry to find a guy. It would be awful if you missed out on the guy who was perfect for you and saw your beauty because you settled for someone else.

You are beautiful and special just the way you are. There is a guy out there who will recognize that. Don’t settle for anything less! Hold your head up and know that you are a fabulous person.

This is making me cry. But not sad tears. Tears of joy. Why did it take me so long to figure this out? I am going through the same issue Sarah Turner went through. I almost started cutting. My sister is thinking about putting me into therapy. I never could say it to myself. I don’t know it I still can. But I can try.

I am fine.

I can’t jump to high, but it can only go up from here. :-)

So I’m a senior in high school. I take a public policy class called Peers Reaching Out. Our mission is to have a “Week of Kindess” in our school. Me and a couple of my friends decided that we are going to take it to the next level. We plan on doing exactly what operation beautiful does.

Tell EVERY girl that she is beautiful. Inside and out.

“Every girl is beautiful. Why do I say that? Because if you were to put every person in the world in one room, and pick a random girl and ask, ‘Who thinks this girl is beautiful?’, at least one person will raise their hand.”
– Sarah Renee Cohen

Stay beautiful everyone. Keep that breath-taking smile on your face. Show the world how strong you are. You can do this. x3

We don’t have to wear dresses and high-heels, or faces full of make up, to be? beautiful. We ARE beautiful when we are ourselves. We can be princesses in jeans & flannel shirts. We don’t have to take this crap that society pushes on us, (trying to look & act older then we are. We are beautiful, when we are us. We can be princesses in glasses, & arms full of books. We are women, not little toys. We have a right, a voice, & we WILL use it. Recognize your beauty, & what you are worth. Show them now

I’m Gabrielle, I’m thirteen years old. My mother died when i was eleven. I could never fill that void. When i was twelve years old i got into bad habits. I would cut myself three times a day. I would starve myself weeks on end, when i actually ate i would make myself throw up. One day i thought that it was going to be the end, but then i got help. I realized what is really important in life. I used to hate myself, but now I’m on my way to loving myself. Someone left a note on my locker at school. It quoted a scripture, it also said that i am truly beautiful. That made my day. Thank-you to the wonderful people who started and keep this foundation going today. Because of you i found hope.

I found a note at Wal-Mart telling me I was beautiful and had the name of this website on the bottom. I thought it was SO awesome that I started leaving sticky-notes around my school saying things like “You’re beautiful just the way you are” and things like that. I got my friend, J, to do it too, and she’d write things like “Smile.. you are beautiful!” We post them on desks, lockers, in the bathroom, etc. at school. One day I covered the entire top of J’s desk with sticky-notes all saying different things about her being beautiful, then in the center of the desk I left a row of 8 blank ones and wrote “YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!” across them. After she collected them (48 in total) she handed some out to people (and they were so ecstatic to get them, I could tell it made their day).
One day I was waiting for a club to start, but I was the only one there (aside from a teacher, Mr. E) so I took sticky-notes and I put one on every chair in the room that said things like “You’re beautiful” and I quoted scenes from the recent play, Cinderella, which talked about TRUE beauty.
A couple of weeks later I was sitting in another class and we weren’t doing anything. We sit at these really big round tables (like the kinds in some cafeterias) and I wrote on a bunch of sticky-notes and placed them on the edge of the table. I got halfway around before we had to leave. I used over 30 or 40 Post-Its.

One day Mr. E asked if I owned OperationBeautiful.com, I told him I didn’t but that J and I left the sticky-notes for people. He then asked me if a certain blue Post-It Note that said “You are pretty spectacular — operationbeautiful” was mine or my friends — and it wasn’t! Someone else has started leaving sticky-notes, too!

Thanks to you and your website (and all the awesome people who leave these amazing notes for strangers) you have started a change in my school — a much needed change. THANK YOU!!!

P.S. I’m asking for Post-It notes for Christmas this year ;)

I’ve always had a “wall” that I put up when I went anywhere. i made it seem like I was confident with myself, that people’s whispers didn’t affect me. I acted like I would rather be single so I could be free to have fun. I let people think these things so they wouldn’t find the true me out. The one that can’t stand to look in the mirror or hop on the scale for fear of what she sees, the one who crys at night because she heard what they said about her. The one that wants someone to love her, but has the fear of rejection settled into her mind because she isn’t beautiful. I stumbled across this site looking for ways to improve my thoughts about myself. Seeing this made me realize that I AM beautiful, no matter what anyways says. I realized that I could stop others from feeling the way I felt. Now, I always keep a pad of post-it notes around. In my purse, in my backpack, in my pocket! Everytime I go somewhere I know another women is likely to be, I scribble something encouraging out and a link to the website and wait for somene to pick it up. Whether it somewhere common like the bathroom or a door, or the back of a box of “feminine products”, I know a woman will be happy to have that encouragement. She may be more insecure than she lets on. You could save someone’s life by telling them they are beautiful….. Thank you Caitlin for all you are doing.

Even though we don’t know each other I just want you to know You Are Beautiful! Don’t hold in all your emotions, because someday you are going to burst. Here’s a challenge for you! Get a piece of paper and everyday write down just one thing you like about yourself or anything in your life! It will be hard at first but try and maybe you will see how blessed you really are! If you are not a Christian maybe you could try to buy a bible and read it! God created you and loves you! He wants you to have the best life you can and he does have a plan for you! When you wake up in the mornings tell yourself that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and don’t let anyone make you feel like you’re not!

A friend of mine was really depressed, so a group of friends and I posted many, many notes on her locker, on mirrors, in the toilets, just before she went into them for two whole weeks. Each time she came out of the toilet and after she saw the notes, she would look so happy. My friends and I never told her it was us, but in the end, she found out anyways. She was so inspired that she started a club at our school that helped boost other’s self-esteem especially when they were upset. This time, she truly understood how other’s felt. :)
