"Where in the USA is Monica?" Monica from Run, Eat, Repeat is taking a cross-country tour! She is driving from California to Maryland, and along the way, she will be spreading the Operation Beautiful love! On Thursday, Monica hinted that she was going to a place with a lot of bridges and a famous marathon. If you guessed Pittsburgh, you were right!
Monica said, "I made it to Pittsburgh! We spent a lot of time on the Pennsylvania turnpike so I thought that was a great place to spread the love! I wrote notes in the car… Then, I would (or have the husband) stick them right to the ticket/toll booth! These booths are packed with cars all day and night, so these notes are going to be seen by a lot of people and hopefully brighten a lot of days!"
Here are the clues for Monica’s last stop:
1. This city hosts one segment of the Triple Crown
2. The city’s name translated from the Irish language means “Town of the Big House”
Can you guess where she is headed now?
And onto your regularly scheduled Operation Beautiful programming…
Simon wrote, "I posted a couple of notes around NYC including a couple of clothing store dressing rooms (where I faked trying on clothes just to make sure I could leave a nice note), my gym’s locker room, a park bench, and I left my favorite note in one of the main bathrooms of my school’s (NYU) massive library. Enclosed is the picture of that note, but this is not even the most exciting part. I came back to the library today to some blogging, blog stalking, and article writing and when I went to go use the bathroom (same one), my post-it was still on the mirror and had remained untouched even after 5 custodial workers had come through and cleaned (the time sheet was hanging on the back of the bathroom door). And if that was not heart warming enough, while I was in my bathroom stall (TMI?!), another girl who was washing her hands started reading the note out loud and then continued to say, "yea, I am aren’t I…" You are right, nothing feels better then knowing that you put a smile on someone else’s face!"
Stephanie said, "This is such a simple act and so gratifying!"
Ellie wrote, "I hung this in a fitting room after overhearing two girls in the next cubicle talking about how ‘terrible’ they looked in the clothes they were trying on. For the record, they came out in the hallway to use the bigger mirror and both looked amazing. I’m keeping post-its and pens in my bag all the time now!"
Genesis wrote, "I placed this on a bus that runs from the University to out town. Thanks for the opportunity!"
Meghan wrote, "I think this movement is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I have probably posted around 30 of these but keep forgetting to stick my camera in my purse to document…. Then today when I was posting in a Target bathroom I realized I could use my iPhone..DUH! I also saw this cool message on a Starbucks board and thought it was appropriate!"
J has been posting the cutest notes. She said, "I’ve told all of my friends about it. Amazing idea!!"
Emma wrote, "I didn’t have my camera with me, but the other day while shopping, a posted a note in the washroom that said ‘God made you beautiful. You’re smile, not size makes you shine with beauty.’ It felt good knowing that note would make someone happy."
Stantalina wrote, "This is my first operation beautiful note. I posted it on the mirror at work. My call center is a very conservative place, so I assumed a couple people would see it, but then it would be taken right down by the custodians or managers. I posted it 2 days ago, came in to work this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still there!"
Have a BEAUTIFUL Saturday! Don’t forget to spread the Operation Beautiful love if you are out and about today! Post a note, take a picture, and send it to Caitlin at seebriderun@gmail.com!

To J: Those are the cutest notes EVER! I think I’ll use some of those (if you don’t mind).
Love the note on the Starbuck’s chalkboard! So cute! I am so excited to see my note on the website, really exciting (except that it says Simon instead of Simone but oh well, a powerful message is a powerful message ans that’s what matters!)
Baltimore!
