Dawn wrote, “Today my roommate and I traveled around Orlando. Well, she ran, and I bike paced her as she is training for her next marathon. We were having such an amazing run, and then we came upon a bench with chalk and a note that said, “grab a piece of chalk and write something positive.” Well I of course immediately had Operation Beautiful pop in to my head and decided to leave a message for all of those who were to pass! I tried to strike a yoga pose but had trouble finding my focus on an instant’s notice!”
Anonymous wrote, “Operation Beautiful has helped me to inspire all of my friends, and we have a much more peaceful community at our school now. Nobody talks about how somebody "looks fat in that" or "is fat" or "shouldn’t wear skinny jeans because they are fat". I have struggled with my weight for years now, and I have finally decided to lose weight for my health, not to be skinny like people on magazines.” She created these two electronic notes to go up on Facebook:

Melissa wrote, “I had discovered GivesMeHope through another website, and through GMH had discovered Operation Beautiful. I decided to make signs so I could put them up in my bathroom on my flight back to Australia and anywhere else I could get them up without being seen. I felt the perfect place would be in the bathroom of the plane! I could just imagine how many people would see that sign on a 13 hour journey! So I made one up and stuck it on the bathroom mirror about halfway through the flight. Towards the end of the flight I went to the bathroom again only to find the sign had been removed. I can only hope another woman (or man) found it so inspiring they had to have it."
Brie wrote, “I put these post-its up on random girls’ lockers, in the girls bathroom and on the nurses door. The reactions to the post its were mixed, but overall I saw more girls smile.”
Joey wrote, “A friend of mine has been having a rough time at work for a while now so I waited until after she left and put this on her computer… she will be surprised in the morning!”
Courtney wrote, “I found this note on a bathroom door at a Barnes and Noble in Raleigh, North Carolina. I loved it!” The note reads: “Hello gorgeous! Wow, how could you ever compare yourself to someone else? You’re perfect as you are. www.OperationBeautiful.com”
Hannah wrote, “I heard about Operation Beautiful at Young Women Writing for (a) Change this past summer. I started carrying post-it notes and a pen with me everywhere I went. My family and I went on a road trip to Canada. Since we live in Ohio, it was a bit of a trek, and there was a lot of rest stops, with plenty of opportunities to post beauty in public places. Mostly, I did restrooms. One stop, I did my normal stuff. One "You are beautiful!" post-it in the stall, one on the mirror. I left the restroom. My mother came in later, and told me the following story: Two women walked into the restroom. One woman was complaining to her friend about another person. They went into their stalls and then the woman’s attitude changed entirely. She said, “Hey! There’s a sign in here. A post it note. It says ‘you are beautiful’. Do you have one like that in your stall?" I had forgotten how wonderful it feels to be doing something abnormal, something that will bring a smile, or make someone’s day.”
Emma from Liverpool, United Kingdom wrote, “I finally bucked up the courage to stick some posters I made around school, in order to help the girls at school feel beautiful and to help them feel happier!”
Jenna wrote, “I think that this Operation Beautiful is well… truly beautiful. Our English teacher at Sayre High School wants us to make a difference in people’s life and someone has been posting little notes all around our school bathrooms so I figured I’d see what it was. These notes made my day ten times better and I’m so glad that people care enough to do this. I’m pushed to do it now too. Its nice to make a difference in someone’s life.”

Wonderful
Wow, those notes were wonderful! I especially like the note with all the celebrity names, ending with “YOU” – lots of girls feel like they cannot live up to what the celebrities put out but seriously, like the note ended with, we are all just as beautiful as any A list star. Great post!
