Stephanie wrote, “Earlier this year, I heard about Operation Beautiful through Superchick, one of my favorite bands. When I found out what it was, I spent five dollars at a local Walgreens drug store for about 200 sticky notes. Lately, I’ve been putting up notes in the bathrooms near my classes. Today, when I was rushing around, I stepped in the bathroom and I saw a note by the same mirrors I posted mine at! It was wonderful to know that someone else had decided to join me in spreading the sticky-beautiful news! I have barely been able to stop smiling since.”
Anon wrote, “Went to Operation Beautiful after I found a note in my school bathroom – it made my day! Anyway, I’ve been posting notes everywhere! Thank you so much!”
Josephine wrote, “I’m addicted to Operation Beautiful and constantly plot ways to post more notes- this one is on the bathroom wall at my school. Girls always worry about their grades, but they have what it takes to succeed!”
Alicia wrote, “After a Biology test one day, I was bored. I remembered I’d been on the Operation Beautiful website a few days before. I realized that High School is often a time when most girls feel ugliest, least important. The media is constantly telling us how we can improve. I know more than a few girls who struggle with their self-image, and I’ve heard every single girl say she’s not pretty at least once. Thinking of this, I took some post-its out of my bag and wrote "P-R-E-T-T-Y: What does that spell? Y-O-U," "You are Beautiful," SMILE!" and "Tu es belle" on Post-Its. I posted them in different bathrooms around the school and the French one went in the Language building. This is one of my new favorite things to do. The stickies stay up for days until they fall off. No one takes them down, and I’ve even heard people talking about it, saying how it really did make them feel beautiful that day.”
Anna wrote, “I think more people should feel nice about themselves. Operation Beautiful helps people achieve that feeling.”
Lauren wrote, “A couple weeks ago I saw my first note on my campus and it made me smile and then I checked out the Operation Beautiful site. I thought it would have been someone from our school to start it, but not at all! All the way across America… I was shocked. Reminds me of Pay It Forward.”
Ashleigh wrote, “Here are some notes I’ve posted recently!”
