Today is the first day of the Official Operation Beautiful Charity Necklace Drive! As you know, we are teaming up with Dress for Success Greater Orlando for a charity fundraiser! As part of this fundraiser, a portion of the proceeds from sales of the official Operation Beautiful necklace will go to Dress for Success Greater Orlando.
Dress for Success Greater Orlando solves the catch-22 that confronts disadvantaged women trying to enter the workforce: without a job, how can you afford a suit? But without a suit, how can you get a job? Dress for Success is well-known for providing suits to disadvantaged women returning to or entering the workforce. Each Dress for Success Greater Orlando client receives one suit when she has a job interview and additional apparel—up to a week’s worth of clothing—when she becomes employed.
The women who are referred to Dress for Success Greater Orlando are often facing tough financial situations because of various situations, whether it be domestic violence, homelessness, or illness. These women cannot purchase their own professional clothes, which makes it difficult to get a job.
