Rachel wrote, “A couple of months ago I decided to change a text message forward being sent around. The original text was: “He likes you even if it seems like he doesn’t.  He will ask u out tomorrow but u gotta forward this 2 10 girls or you’ll lose him. NO SEND BACKS”  I decided to make it:  “He likes you even if it seems like he doesn’t. Remember ladies YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! www.operationbeautiful.com” Today, I received the text message back! I felt accomplished!”

Hannah wrote, “I go to a International Baccalaureate School in Florida. All the time I hear people say, ‘Ugh, I’m so ugly/fat/chubby/squinty eyed/pale/dark/etc.’ I HATE it. So, when I heard about your website and idea I was amazed. I’ve made 10 cards and put them all around my school to show EVERYONE at my school how beautiful and unique they really are. I’m also inspiring my whole class to make them and put them around our school and community! Thank you so much!”

Christina from New Zealand wrote, “I go to Spotswood College in New Zealand, and I’ve seen 3 notes posted in the last 2 days around.   I thought they were a random joke at first, but then my best friend went to the website and said it was so cool! I put an Operation Beautiful note on Twitter! That way, everyone in the whole world can see it and realize FAT TALK is no good!”

Claudia wrote, “When my friend first introduced me to this site, I fell in love completely. Ever since I leave cute little messages everywhere someone might see and smile. This is my favorite site so far, makes me smile every time I get on!”

Alicia Taylor wrote, “I’m Miss Maryland United America 2009.  I was introduced to this by Laquisha Hall, Mrs. Maryland Galaxy 2009. What a great concept! I’m glad to be apart and have recruited the girls that I mentor at church to be apart as well!”

“He likes you even if it seems like he doesn’t”?! Sorry, but surely this isn’t a particularly healthy message to be sending out. It just smacks of “no doesn’t mean no” and the idea that you are only worthwhile when some boy likes you.

Really, we should be telling girls, “it doesn’t matter whether he does or doesn’t like you, because you are beautiful and don’t need the acceptance of a boy to feel beautiful”!
