Friday Notes – July 10, 2009

A Message from Caitlin:  Operation Beautiful is launching a fun new project this week!  Read all about it below.

Monica from Run, Eat, Repeat is taking a cross-country tour!  She is driving from California to Maryland from July 10 to July 17, and along the way, she will be spreading the Operation Beautiful love!

Monica will be posting notes in every city she stops in, and we’ll be playing a fun game of “Where in the USA is Monica?”  The stops may include corny tourist destinations, random gas station bathrooms and everything in between!

Tomorrow, we’ll find out her FIRST stop.  But here are some clues:

1.       This city hosts a marathon in December.
2.       Last year over 33 million people visited this city – so, a lot of women will see the Operation Beautiful notes
3.       With pictures of “sexy ladies” everywhere you look – this place really needs a reminder that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Raven wrote, “I had some library books to return, so I stuck these in the books…”

Brooke from Jane Nation wrote, “I left this post-it in a bathroom at a bar over the 4th of July weekend. I heard someone talking about later in the night, I think it made their day!”

Jaclyn wrote, “Today, while at Red Lobster with my best friend, I was talking to the waitress. She was telling me about how I look like her 16 year old daughter and how she was doing poorly in school and I could tell she was frazzled. So, just before we left, I whipped out one of my handy-dandy index cards on which I had written cute notes and stuck it in the bill book thingy with a rather large tip and walked out. I’m sure it made her day!”

Jaya from Iron and I Run wrote, “I posted my first Operation Beautiful note in the ladies’ room at work last week. Hard to make out, but it says
“Look in the mirror and celebrate.. You are beautiful!”"

Alaura wrote, “One of my GUY friends heard about Operation Beautiful and made a group on a website us girls to spread the word! He wrote this for us to print off and use.  I am going to put it in books at the library and stuff like that for girls to find:  “I was born gorgeous and I am forever beautiful. Though the world and those who are in it may try to tell me otherwise and attempt to bring me down, I will not let them. Even when storms come along and try to steal away my happiness, I will just dance in the rain. I will love myself and learn to be happy with everything I am. I am beautiful, I am loved, I am me. No one can change that, even if they wanted to. I am born gorgeous.”"

Maressa wrote, “I was inspired to post my first message today. I posted this note on the bathroom stall at my job.”

Ellie from Inside I am Dancing wrote, “I was at the doctor this morning and saw that they had a session on about weight loss/dieting. I put this up in the bathroom!”

Elina from Healthy and Sane wrote, “here is another note I taped to a mirror at my gym yesterday. The maid caught me taking a picture but she didn’t remove my note I hope it made someone’s day!”
