Lauren in New Zealand wrote, “The other day I put a note up on the mirror in the ladies changing rooms at my gym. I didn’t get a picture but it said: “This is not a trick mirror, you are beautiful…So smile!”  After I put it up, I was sitting downstairs chatting to a friend, and I swear there was a change in the ladies as they left! Now I’m going to try and sneak one into as many places as I can.”

Felicia wrote, “Here is my note left in the woman’s bathroom at work. I work in a corporate office so hopefully my little note will cheer them up a little bit.”

Tonyne wrote, “Here is a picture of the Operation Beautiful sign I wore during my very first 5k! :) So many people stopped me to comment on how the sign made them smile and asking if they could just run behind me for the entire race!”

Tiffany wrote, “Since graduating from college almost a year ago, I have been looking to be more involved in my community.  Through some research, I was lucky enough to discover Girls on the Run of Coconino County.  Girls on the Run is an international organization dedicated to teaching girls (ages 3rd to 8th grade) how to think outside of the "girl box". For twelve weeks, twice a week, the girls meet in their groups with their coaches and learn various empowerment lessons all while learning the importance of exercise and how running benefits you both mentally and physically. All of their hard work ends with the 5K race where they are encouraged to run/walk/skip/sing/or dance their way to the end at their own pace.  On the morning of the race,  I woke up extra early to make my Operation Beautiful sign.  I arrived at the race and my sign was a big hit immediately! Many people stopped me to tell me they loved the message on my back, and others asked what Operation Beautiful was. I had a great time explaining the purpose and spreading the love.   When Simran (my running buddy) and her twin Kirin arrived I was so excited. I had not met her before the race and I was anxious and a bit nervous to meet her. Simran has pretty bad asthma so I did not expect us to run much of the race. She started out strong, and held my hand as we began the race. At the first water station we collected some stickers and headed on our way. Most of the race she just talked and talk to me about her life, school, her sister, her family, it was so rewarding to be able to do that race with her.    It was after a few people stopped me that Simran became curious about my sign. I talked to her about it a bit and she became so excited. She loved the idea of leaving post-it notes around, she even said "It’s perfect, I love giving compliments." At this point we were just about done, we hit the last half mile and her dad was there to run with us. It was great to see him and her together and to listen to him encourage her, he held her hand and said, "Let’s show mom how strong you are." Running across the finish line, with all the people cheering us on was one of the coolest moments I have experienced.”

Alicia wrote, “Today I was putting on make up in my mirror with the window open. A car went by and a guy leaned out the window and yelled "You don’t need make up. Your beautiful just the way you are!" Thank you, kind stranger!”

Amanda wrote, “I wrote my first Operation Beautiful note a couple of days ago and posted it in the bathroom at work. Its a very simple one, nothing fancy or artistic but I hope someone who really needed it found it!”

HERE’S AN AWESOME AND UNIQUE NOTE FROM A MAN! Matt wrote, “I love this website and was inspired by the recent submissions to get out and make a difference myself. I was working at the register at Hastings,  and I decided to support Operation Beautiful at work. That night at the register I had so many smiles, and you could tell people were really taking to heart the simple note I wrote them. Its amazing how we all can feel so low and down and all it takes is for a random stranger to just reiterate what they already knew – that they are beautiful and full of self worth.”
